For many years, rubber coated hex dumbbells have been a consistent sight in gyms, both home and commercial, across the country.

Their hex shape promotes ease of storage and allows for easier performance of specific exercises where the rolling of round dumbbells can become an issue - such as renegade rows.

The rubber coating serves the dual purpose of reducing noise when dropped and protection of your gym, or home, flooring. However, rubber coating has one major disadvantage - it can have a terrible odour. One does not need to read many reviews of rubber-hex dumbbells before they'll come across complaints about the smell, which can be severe at times.

This is why we have chose to move away from rubber coating and towards PVC coating. This upgrade in material offers the same advantages offered by rubber coating, but without that rubber odour.
